Memory Bears Workshop by Pearlyn Lee
Date: TBD (Sat)
Time: 2.30pm to 4.00pm
Venue: Block B, Goodman Arts Centre, #03-19
What I'll be crafting
Sew a commemorative bear plushie from your child's old onesie, or fabric from a garment you hold dear but may not want to wear. This workshop is about upcycling and creating a symbolic object from cherished memories.
The materials provided are (sewing and embroidery) thread, needles, sewing pattern, scissors, pencils, paper, polyester stuffing, assorted fabric scraps. Participants are required to bring along one piece of fabric (t-shirt or baby onsie) that they would like to turn into the bear.
This workshop is suitable for ages 15 and above.
About the instructor
Pearlyn Lee is a registered Art Therapist by day and an enthusiastic crafter by night. She enjoys collecting scraps of fabrics that are re-imagined into plushies and accessories. Pearlyn sews by hand as she enjoys its simplicity and the magical transformations it contributes to. Other than sewing, Pearlyn indulges in the tactile qualities of wet felting and the contentment of ink drawing.
